Consulting 
While
a portion of our research is
self-determined, we also offer consulting services. Our specialty is
open-area
and upland forest plants and wildlife (see “What
Do We Do?”). We
provide
illustrated reports supplemented with relevant mapping. These projects
can
address institutional needs (e.g., the management of public areas) or
personal
ones (e.g., a desire to know one’s own property better).
In
collaboration with Steffen
Schneider, the farm manager at Hawthorne Valley Farm, we are beginning
to offer a
new consulting
service designed for private and institutional landowners who want to
combine
agricultural and nature-conservation goals on their properties. In
conjunction
with the land owner, we design a plan which melds
farm production and habitat preservation.
